- Meredith L. Raettig, age 77, of Snellville died September 8, 2004. Mrs. Raettig was of the Methodist faith and an active Sunday school teacher. She was a charter member of the volunteer group at Joan Glancy Hospital and active with Boy's and Girl's Scouting. Mrs. Raettig was preceded in by her granddaughter Michelle Raettig and brother, Frank O'Brien. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alvin E. Raettig, Snellville; daughters, Susan Luttrell and her husband Paul, Mauldin, SC; Ellen Hamilton and her husband Mike, Lawrenceville; sons, Edward E. Raettig and wife Eyvette, Lilburn; Steve Raettig and his wife Rosa, Groveland, FL; brothers, Edward O'Brien, Halifax, MA; Leslie O'Brien, St. Petersburg, FL; Walter O'Brien, Charlestown, W. VA; grandchildren, Debbie Hamilton, Brian Luttrell, Matthew Raettig, Sean Luttrell, Alex Raettig, Shannon O'Brien and Tyler Raettig; sister-in-law, Eleanor Chadwick, Decatur; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel. Rev. Billy Britt will officiate. Burial East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens.
